BRIGHT STEP LEARNING — HANDOVER CHECKLIST Responsibility and period covered: Receiving role and actual authority: Current output/status: Completed steps with relevant evidence: Remaining actions and owners: Decisions, conditions and approvals: Dependencies and uncertain inputs: Current source/version: Authorised access arrangements: Support route and review: FICTIONAL EXAMPLE Responsibility: weekly materials coordination during temporary cover. Two actions remain open. Organiser review is pending and system access has been requested through the authorised route. The cover leader needs instruction before using the unfamiliar system. Record these as readiness gaps rather than marking the whole transition complete because a meeting occurred. CHECK WITH THE RECIPIENT Can they locate the current information and explain the next action? Do they know which decisions remain elsewhere? Is support available without depending indefinitely on the outgoing person? INFORMATION SAFETY Use role-based access rather than password sharing. Transfer sensitive matters only through the appropriate authorised confidential route. Avoid private contact details not needed for the task. CLOSURE Distinguish information shared, access transferred and responsibilities actually taken over. Record unresolved gaps and follow-up owners honestly.
