BRIGHT STEP LEARNING — CV PRACTICE OUTLINE Purpose: organise relevant experience clearly. This is a practice aid, not a promise of employment or a substitute for a vacancy's actual instructions. 1. Contact details: name, appropriate contact number, professional email and broad location where relevant. Do not include unnecessary identity numbers, passwords or bank details. 2. Short profile: two or three factual sentences connecting your relevant strengths to the role. Replace unsupported claims such as expert with evidence. 3. Relevant skills: name the skill, then give a brief example of using it. 4. Experience: role, organisation, period and specific responsibilities or contributions. Distinguish paid employment, volunteering and practice projects honestly. 5. Education and learning: record actual study accurately. A Bright Step Certificate of Completion is not an NQF qualification. 6. References: obtain permission before sharing another person's contact information; follow the actual application instructions. FICTIONAL PRACTICE EXAMPLE Naledi M. supported a community reading session by organising a sign-in list and preparing a checked materials pack. A useful experience bullet is: Prepared the current materials list and checked it against the organiser's brief. Do not replace this with an invented management title or numerical achievement. YOUR TASK Write a one-page fictional CV for a clearly described opportunity. Check dates, spelling, relevance and honest wording. Ask whether every claim could be explained with an example. Save a simple readable version and review it before using any real personal information.
