BRIGHT STEP LEARNING — COMMUNICATION BRIEF Reader and their need: Purpose of the message: Confirmed facts and sources: Unconfirmed information to qualify: Essential conditions or limitations: One clear next action: Contact or response route: Format, accessibility and data considerations: Approval or review needed: FICTIONAL EXAMPLE A community-session participant needs collection directions. State the confirmed collection point and hours, the relevant reference and a suitable contact route. If parking is unconfirmed, do not promise free parking. A valid map link can still point to the wrong branch, so check its destination. Put essential directions in readable plain text rather than relying only on a large attachment. REVIEW CHECK Could someone unfamiliar with your internal codes understand it? Are names, dates and units correct? Are required conditions visible? Does the reader know what to do next? Have you excluded unrelated personal details and unsupported guarantees? PRACTICE Draft two versions for different readers. Explain which details changed and why. Read the result aloud and on a small screen. Improve one sentence that hides its purpose or next step. This is a practice aid, not a substitute for checking real information before publication.
